God is not into behavior modification. He is into HEART TRANSFORMATION. He is not a bunch of laws...do this, do that.....or else.....NO! God is love. Pure, sweet love.
When we see how much God loves us, we will WANT to ask Him into our lives and hearts. We must let Him romance us...He is the perfect lover. He loved and loves us so much that He put all our sin on Jesus.
God does not want to punish the sinner....it has been dealt with with Jesus on the Cross. It is finished.
Now, when you accept Jesus, the Blood of Jesus does away with all our sin. When we do mess up, (and we certainly do sometimes)God doesn't see our sin anymore.
Has God gone soft on sin?! NO!! Would you call it going soft on sin to put ALL sin on your only beloved Son?! Are you kidding?!
No, God loves us.....He did that so He could have us back.
Sin is wrong....but now the motive has changed. God doesn't DEMAND that we don't sin anymore, He doesn't WANT us to sin ....here is the reason: because it hurts us. We are His children.
When we see our own children mess up, we don't stop loving them, but it grieves us because we see how it hurts them. That is the heart of God.
He loves us NO MATTER WHAT. But it hurts God when we sin, because He sees how it hurts us. He is our Father.
